From 23 to 25 February 2015 Cordaid DRC organised the annual review of its activities in 2014 to the East of the country.
Cordaid DRC works with several partners for its many projects in Eastern DRC. The first two days are dedicated to sharing and exchanges on the results achieved in 2014. All national and international partners have been invited for this occasion.
Among the participants, we have His Excellency the Governor, Mr Remco van der Veen Health Program Director Cordaid HQ, Minister of Health, Interior, Education and several civil society partners. International partners such as: I + Solution, HDP, Healthy Entrepreneurs also participated in the workshop.
In 2014, Cordaid DRC has executed over 80 projects in 8 provinces in partnership with over 60 local organizations. The various programs have produced positive results that have impacts for men, women and children in South and North Kivu.
The last day was devoted to a symposium on “Men involvement in sexual and reproductive health”. Several progress are made on sexual and reproductive health. Young people are better informed and therefore better equipped to make the right choices in sexuality; more people have access to contraceptives; public and private clinics provide better sexual and reproductive health services to meet the increasing demand.
Men are more involved but we must continue to raise awareness in order to have a greater impact in the coming years.
