This saves many lives. Our quality healthcare programmes prevent and treat HIV and tuberculosis infections, reduce maternal and infant deaths and help people cope with trauma through professional psychosocial support.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health System Strengthening<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A resilient health system is essential for people to have continuous access to affordable and good quality health care. Results-based financing is one of our guiding approaches to strengthening health systems. This means we link funding directly to performance: healthcare providers receive payments after verification of their achievements, in terms of the use of services, quality of care and patient satisfaction. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This also transforms the governance of health systems. The strategy introduces checks and balances, motivates staff, and involves government authorities. In turn, greenhouse gas emissions from the health sector also contribute to climate change and environmental degradation. Through climate change mitigation (solar energy) and adaptation (water supply), Cordaid contributes to more resilient health systems. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health and Education&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cordaid increasingly acknowledges the need for close collaboration between health centres and schools to improve the health of children. Cordaid addresses individual and collective trauma.\u202fHealth workers and social workers provide diagnosis and treatment, while community outreach workers are trained and support groups are formed for follow-up support and reintegration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Global Health Security\u202f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Health crises and epidemics occur frequently in fragile settings and carry the risk of turning into pandemics and global health emergencies.
