\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAs part of the Global Health, Global Access programme, Cordaid is advocating for Gavi\u2019s work to ensure the continued support of the Netherlands for vaccinations and immunisation in low-income countries.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Gavi is one of the leading multilateral organisations. It was founded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, together with the World Health Organisation, UNICEF and the World Bank. The mission of the organisation is to ensure vaccines for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vaccines have been an effective cure against many deadly infectious diseases that caused unimaginable miseries for decades. Sadly, people in many countries are still suffering from these easily preventable diseases. It\u2019s mainly because they do not have access to life-saving vaccines. This is one of the major obstacles on the way toward Universal Health Coverage<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is Gavi\u2019s mission to make vaccines available, accessible and affordable to the people who need them most. Cordaid has partnered with Gavi in the past. Now, as part of the Global Health, Global Access<\/em> programme, Cordaid is advocating to ensure that the Dutch government continues its unwavering support to Gavi\u2019s cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Netherlands kept its promise to gavi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cordaid has been stressing the importance of Gavi\u2019s role in achieving Universal Health Coverage<\/em> for a long time. Especially during the replenishment of Gavi in June 2020. While the world was facing a major health crisis, leaders from around the world promised their contributions to Gavi. We are proud that the Netherlands committed 325 million dollars so that people would have access to life-saving vaccines in remote parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journey towards a world with better health care continues\u2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are still far from ensuring health for all. COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on already strained health systems in many countries, which has made a strong case for investing in global health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will continue working with Gavi to explore more on this topic and the role countries like the Netherlands can play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
