This means that the school will receive funds once several predetermined results have been achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Better results, better accessibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This could be, for example, more girls in the classroom, training teachers, better test results or better accessibility, as the distances between the villages in the area and the schools often pose a challenge for the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8216;The exchange of knowledge and experience between the teachers and the participation of parents in school governance have completely changed our school&#8217;s ranking.&#8217;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Performance-based financing has helped us to improve our results and the learning environment,&#8217; says Aline Maniragumije, head of Munanira Primary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After achieving the agreed results, the school can autonomously decide how it wants to spend the funds. The exchange of knowledge and experience between the teachers and the participation of parents in school governance have completely changed our school&#8217;s ranking. The parents&#8217; participation also creates trust and avoids any suspicion of mismanagement. The latter provides employment and generates income for the school. They also installed electricity, enabling the children to study in a well-lit classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;The school teaches us to prepare for our future&#8217;, says 14-year-old Noble Iriwacu. &#8216;But we need the right conditions to study.
