She chairs a council of 15 notables working to resolve conflicts peacefully. Through capacity-building sessions provided by the project, Anna and her peers have gained valuable skills to serve their communities effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna highlights the importance of women&#8217;s presence in conflict resolution. &#8216;The presence of women is crucial. When a woman has a complaint, she feels reassured seeing women represented. Even men feel more confident approaching us. This inclusivity allows everyone to express themselves freely, which fosters trust and fairness.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strengthening Local Advocacy Platforms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has also established the Umuhivu w\u2019Imboneza Platform (meaning a strong rope that never breaks), which is composed mainly of women from various local organisations. Members have received advocacy and peaceful conflict resolution training, enabling them to take on community leadership roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Philom\u00e8ne Ndayisaba, platform president, reflects on their growing role: &#8216;The community recognises our efforts. Local authorities often seek our help to resolve disputes. For conflicts that can be settled amicably, we facilitate reconciliation. For crimes beyond our scope, we refer cases to the appropriate authorities.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Call for Continuity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants unanimously agree that the project has strengthened community-based organisations and advocacy platforms, fostering local ownership and sustainable peace.
