Board Assistant

Cordaid is looking for a

Board Assistant

(36 hours, based in The Hague)

You are service-oriented, stress-resistant and, above all, proactive in managing the agenda and providing administrative support to the Board of Directors. You always think one step ahead!

What you do

  • Providing administrative support to the CEO and CFO.
  • You manage their calendars and process incoming correspondence.
  • Identifying bottlenecks in schedules and independently taking action to find solutions.
  • Managing the mailbox for Board Support
  • Travel bookings for the CEO, CFO and International management team.  
  • Managing digital archives and documentation; ensuring that information is up to date, complete and accessible.
  • You prioritise meeting requests and schedule follow-ups for incoming proposals.
  • You organise the meetings of the Board of Directors, draw up the agenda and, if necessary, take minutes in English.
  • Managing and filtering mail, emails and other incoming information; prioritising based on content and urgency.
  • Maintaining internal and external contacts and monitoring the quality of working relationships.
  • Drafting correspondence and documents in English and if possible,  also in French, based on internal consultations.
  • Ensuring the timely and correct handling of letters and requests.
  • Ensuring a welcoming and professional reception for visitors.
  • Organising large and middle sized events

 Who you are

  • Higher professional education (HBO) level, preferably in public administration, management support or business administration.
  • At least several years of experience in a similar role at management/executive level.
  • Strong organisational, written and analytical skills.
  • Excellent command of English and preferably also Dutch (French is an asset).
  • Discretion, proactivity and excellent social skills.
  • Affinity with decision-making processes, policy development and management information.
  • Experience with digital documentation and archiving systems is an advantage.
