Cordaid supports 24 young community leaders in different parts of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. Parts that were deeply affected by ISIS brutalities and the ensuing military operations. In their communities they help younger generations to deal with everyday challenges and insecurity. Like sexual harassment, drug addiction and youth unemployment. They build pockets of trust and cohesion in environments that are still – two years after the military defeat of ISIS – very much ruled by fear, distrust and a depressing lack of opportunities.
