Multi-country -

Cordaid developed several materials on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for adolescents during the Jeune S3 programme. If you are interested in providing sexuality education for young people, Cordaid can assist you with these materials.

Cover of the booklet ‘Like Joe’.

Jeune S3 was a multi-country programme implemented by a consortium led by Cordaid in Benin, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The objective was to strengthen the capabilities and opportunities of youth (10-24 years) to make responsible choices regarding their sexual and reproductive health and advocate effectively for their rights in this area.

The materials that were developed support comprehensive sexuality education in and out of school. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs funded the programme.

A Series of Booklets on Various Topics

Like Sarah Mirjam and Joe is meant for 10- to 14-year-old children to learn about body changes and their rights.

Like Pamela is meant for adolescent girls, specifically teenage mothers.

Like Joe is about positive masculinities, written for boys from age 10 onwards and young men.

These booklets are accompanied by a guide for group facilitators (teachers, mentors, youth group leaders). The guides contain ideas for discussions, games, and activities to maximise interaction and participative learning.

The booklet Papa, Maman, d’où viennent les bébés is meant to help parents talk to their children about love, relationships, and sexuality.

A card game is also available, featuring 80 true/false cards with questions on SRHR and youth themes.

The materials are available in different languages.
