A fruitful year for new crowdfunding platform PlusPlus

News Food systems

PlusPlus’s first year was a good one. This new crowdfunding platform for social impact was founded by Cordaid, Solidaridad, Lendahand and Truvalu. Since its launch at the end of 2020, the platform has been growing steadily.

In just over a year, PlusPlus went from zero to over 400 investors. Together they have already provided over € 727,000 in loans to agri-food entrepreneurs in low-income countries. These loans are without interest, but have a lot of impact.

For example: in 2021, over 8,700 farmers and their families have increased their incomes, more than 4,000 farmers received training in climate-smart agricultural techniques to improve their harvests and 87 new jobs were created, mainly benefiting women and young people.

These results have been achieved through loans from Dutch PlusPlus investors, which will be reimbursed every 6 months. PlusPlus and Cordaid are tremendously proud of these results!

And we’re only just beginning…
